Fourteen of us used the beautiful weather to try a new combination: up Waahila, down Kolowalu. Logistics with cars worked with Judy and Gary parking their huge van and truck in Woodlawn and ferrying everyone back up to the top of St. Louis Heights at the end. With us were Wade, Priscilla, William and Wesley; Chloe, Mona and Gary; Ximena, Troy and Joe; Swee, Judy, Lydia, and Brad with Harry. This was perhaps a medium hard hike because Waahila, starting at 1080', presents repeated rocky swoops up and down and a gain of 559' (to 1639'), while Kolowalu adds drops and gains and ends up 1289' lower. ~Brad
